Privacy and Use of your Personal Information

SSBT must meet the requirements of the Federal Privacy Act. All students are able to access their own personal file held by the college and may also request updates to information that is incorrect or out of date. Access may be given to an identified government officer from such agencies as DEST, DIMIA or VETAB for auditing purposes. We are required to inform DIMIA of changes to your enrolment and ny breach of your student visa conditions relating to attendance or unsatisfactory academic performance.

A copy of student or staff records by a third party can only be obtained with the written permission of the person whose file has been requested. This permission must be first provided in writing before such access is given.
Personal information is collected solely for operational purposes as a Registered Training Organisation.

All reasonable steps will be taken to protect personal information from misuse, loss, unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. This includes password protection of electronic files, secure storage of paper files and secure backup of data.
Students will be allocated a unique number for the purposes of maintaining SSBT electronic records or for collection of data by the Commonwealth and State Government departments and agencies.
