How to apply for a Student Visa

Student visas are only issued to those who undertake registered courses on a full-time basis, are of good character, have adequate means of financial support and are covered by health insurance whilst in Australia. Students who meet these criteria must lodge an application with the Australian Embassy or Consulate in their home country. Visit The Department of Immigration and Citizenship (DIAC) website at http://www.immi.gov.au/ for updated information regarding immigration and student visas.

Educational Agents

SSBT have agent offices in most countries worldwide. Our friendly agents can answer all your questions and will also assist with pre enrolment information.

Cost of living in Australia

Assume living costs of $12,000 per annum for applicants who have no family unit members. The cost of living could be expected to increase by at least 35% if a student has a spouse. If you have a child please include a further 20% (plus $8,000 per annum for the cost of schooling).

Work while studying

International students wishing to work in Australia must apply for a special work permit from DIAC following enrolment. Once a student receives a work permit he/she will be permitted to work up to 20 hours a week during term and full-time during vacations.
